Renting a golf cart at Fort wilderness

I want to rent a golf cart for a few hours to see the Halloween decorations at Fort wilderness. Do I have to be a checked in camper or can I rent one from inside the campground ?

I'm not sure if I can answer your question, but I can tell you I called today to see if I could rent one on October 31 and was told that they are all booked. I think you can rent them one year out. And I'm sure lots of people rent them for the golf cart parade, which would explain why they are all taken.

To add to the info on the cart rentals at FW:

-even if you only want a cart for a few hours, one day is the minimum rental period and the price is $59 + tax.

- the call to reserve a cart goes to the Bike Barn which can be busy for Cast Members and guests have frequently said no one answers the phone. The best success people have reported is early in the morning after it opens (like in the first hour). It opens at 8am Eastern most days maybe?

- anyone (Fort guests, WDW resort guests, off site guest) can rent a cart as long as you have a credit card. They run the rental charge a day or two before you pick up.

- pick up and return times generally match the check-in and check-out times at the Fort.

And at busy times like holidays, spring break time, etc. it is very common for the Fort's golf carts to be fully booked out.
