renting a golf cart at Fort Wilderness?

we'll be going to Hoop[ Dee Doo one night, and wondering about renting a golf cart to go around and see the FW resort grounds. Can you rent them right where the parking lot is? Thanks!

You cannot rent them where you park up front. You would have to take the internal bus back to the Meadows Trading Post and walk back to the Bike Barn. We've never rented one - we take our bikes - but I understand they go fast so if this is something you are considering you may want to go ahead and reserve one for your trip. Have fun at HDDR!

Also, they rent them by the day, so even if you wanted one for a few hours you would have to pay for the whole day, around 50 bucks. The bike barn closes early, I believe it's around 5pm. If you want to rent one, find out what time they close so you can get there in time to get it. I would assume if you are not staying at FW, you could park it at the bike barn when you are finished with it and someone would have to go back to FW to do the "return" the next day.

Unless things have changed since I went in January, you can rent them by the hour. We did so, and it was a lot of fun just riding around the camping loops as something to do for a few hours. I think it was $12/hour.

However, you have to rent them from the Meadows, so that means walking or taking an internal bus. Also, they close at 5 I think, so you would have to rent by 4:00.

You can't get a reservation just to rent one for an hour, so you may or may not be able to get one. But we just called before we left WL to see if they had any, and they told us to come on over.

I would assume if you are not staying at FW, you could park it at the bike barn when you are finished with it and someone would have to go back to FW to do the "return" the next day.

They have a drop box for the keys for returns after hours.
