Renting a double stroller - need rain cover help

We are going on our first trip this September. I am renting the Instep Double Jogging stroller from A Baby's Best Friend. I don't want to pay (and can't) $20+ for a double jogging stroller rain cover for a stoller that isn't even mine.

I'm a little afraid of using a poncho because I don't want the water to pool up on top and fall into the stroller. Does anyone know of something else I can do or use?

What about a plain plastic shower curtain and some clips to hold it on? I was thinking from the Dollar store...
