renting a car........

used disney transportation with free dining 2005 and 2007, 2005 @ POFQ was horrible, 2007 CBR was actually pretty good, Jamaica section, cannot complain at all....we are going 2008 free dining and did manage to get a car for 6 nights at a ridiculous rate, so we went for it.........no buses at all this year, yippee...........the rate was ridiculously low....almost had to do it. Free parking too. anyone else doing this?

We rented the car the last 2 trips and loved having it, saved a ton of time. Now I never want to go without renting a car. We stay in the 1 bedroom dvc and stock up on beverages and snacks at the supermarket. We are a family of 5 and the money we saved on water alone (Something like $2.50 a bottle at the park) would pay for the car rental considering we were there in August and must have went through 5 cases (we pack water for the park). We also drove to every park except for the magic kingdom and it was a real time saver. Also, we could easily get to other resorts if we wanted to eat there. Once you have your own transportation, you'll never want to go back to disney transportation!
