Hi guys. I really don't want to spend $100+ to have a car for less than 24 hrs. So, thought I would check out Priceline. Is there anything I need to watch for when doing this? I can get a car for 40% less...they choose the rental company. Any thoughts?

I used Priceline quite often back when we rented a vehicle at MCO. I always got a good deal and for some reason I always got Alamo as the winning bid.

I have used Priceline name your own price for car rentals several times; no problems. Just be aware you have to pre-pay.

I am picking up a car in Tampa, dropping it off at MCO. Just need it for a day. I think I'll just bite the bullet and go with it. $102 for less than 24 hrs is a bit much I think.

It could be that it is so expensive because you are picking up and dropping off at 2 different locations.

I have been finding the one day rental for mid-May (one way) around $80-$100. Ouch. I will use Uber.

I'm finding the 40% off with Priceline to be about $48.

Bit the bullet and rented a mid-size SUV (what I normally drive) for a total of $75. $35 cheaper than a Focus. I'm happy...I much prefer being up higher on the highway. Thanks everyone.
