Renting a car through hotwire

For those who have used hotwire for car rentals in the past - were there any additional charges to what you paid hotwire up front? Hotwire's current price is about $100 cheaper than most others and the site claims that their price "includes all applicable tax recovery charges and fees". Is that it? Really? Is there a fee to add a second driver? What about the option to pre-pay for the gas fill up? Will those be offered when we check in with whatever company we end up with?

Ditto! A full size car for 7 days (May 5-12) is $166 inclusive according to the Hotwire website. Need to know should I jump on it??

I don't have any problem with them. I got Hertz at $142.26 (inlcuded tax)
MCO April 29-May 3. They will not show the car rental agency until you made a payment.

I've used them several times. Whatever is quoted is the full price unless you select to add options at the counter like car seats, GPS, insurance, etc.

Have used Hotwire also several times and it has always been a positive experience. I believe it says that all the rental agencies are in the terminal, but like the above poster, the agency isn't revealed until you pay. If you can get a good rate, go for it, don't think you will regret it.

Thanks for the info. Our plans now involve needing the rental for a 8 full days plus a few hours so I don't think we'll find a better rate than the current hotwire listing for $192 for a midsize car. Currently everyone else including priceline is at $250+ for our dates. I'm going to give it a few more days and then book it if nothing else pops up. As long as we are not forced to shuttle anywhere I'm not really picky about which company we get - a car is a car is a car.
