Renting A Car Once Onsite At AKL

Hi Gang

We're planning a trip to AKL this fall. I was wondering once we are there, if we decide to rent a car for a day or so, how do we rent? We've stayed at the Swan/Dolphin the last 3 times and they have an Alamo desk and cars on site.

You can go to the Car Care Center and get one - it is near the Polynesian - or go on over to the Swan/Dolphin to get it.

Why don't you reserve one ahead of time and then if you decide to go get it youhave a good rate locked in. There is no penalty if you decide not to get it.

Most of the rental companies have a shuttle service to take you to and from resorts. Hertz has a site just south of AKL so they are probably the closest. It is less expensive to rent from a location which is not on the WDW or hotel properties.

We just bus to DTD and walk across the street to Dollar . I find they have the best rates most of the time

When we rented for a day while we stayed on site we used Hertz and they came and picked me up then dropped me off when we were done with the car. They were at SOG.

National/Alamo has a rental facility at the Disney Car Care Center (just south of the MK parking area). They provide free shuttle service from/to your resort.
