I would like to know how much renters insurance is for the time my daughter would be doing the CP. Do you take it out in Florida or your home state? I have read that you have to have it now. Anyone have any trouble getting it?

I didn't have any trouble getting it. I paid $120 through geico's website before I moved to FL. I used Vista Way address as a temporary address until I moved here and knew my own address.

A lot of Homeowner's Policies do not cover rental insurance, it must be a seperate policy or added on. Our older daughter who attends a college in Indy but lives off campus has RI but it is a seperate policy. Unfortunately there are a lot of insurance companies who will no longer write policies for Florida including our current company in which we have both homeowner and auto policies.

I did get renter's insurance for my younger daughter who will be at WDW online using a company recommended by several castmembers over on the cast member board.

Renter's insurance will cover the personal items in an apartment such as computers, cameras, cell phones, ipods, clothes, etc. in the event of fire, flood, etc. Most apartment complexes have their own insurance but covers the dwelling but NOT the personal items inside of each apartment. It is a good thing to have in case something happens and you need to replace items. Most coverages begin around $5000 coverage and up.
