do non-member renting points get the same benefit of being able to purchase items in WDW and have them delivered to their room? I would imagine you couldnt charge the stuff to your room for obvious reasons.

I would imagine that any guest of a disney resort has that benifit, even if you stay in the all stars....They probably are able to use free valet, as they have DVC (i think) printed on their room passes

oh and as long as you leave a credit card, anyone can charge to their room, like at all DVC resorts

Renters of points are not entitled to the discounts wihtout the blue DVC member card, although some places have taken the KTTW card..
When the renter checks in, they should have the option of using their cc for room charges, or decline charging privilege. They cannot elect to charge to the owner.

They do get the valet if they have the DVC desination on room key or parking pass......Right????

Not necessarily. I've been asked to show my blue member card when getting the free valet parking.

Renters get the same perks that all Disney resort guests get - access to EMH, ability to charge to the room, package delivery, DME, etc. The discounts that are in the perks booklet you get at check-in are only for members.

Some CMs will give the discount if you show your room key that says DVC member. Others will ask to see the member ID. I've noticed that they're asking for the member ID more often.

That DVC Member designation on the room key just means that a member owns your reservation. It doesn't give you 'temporary member status' or anything like that.

Technically renters don't get any member perks but would get perks offered to guests in general such as transportation, free park parking and package delivery. They are not entitled to valet or discounts but they are often extended by disney to the renter regardless.

Package delivery is not a DVC perk, it is a perk for all guests staying on WDW property. So, since renters are staying on WDW property they will have the option to use package delivery.

As for charging to your room, yes you can do this. A room key is not tied to the member's account. When you check in you will leave a credit card at the front desk and all of your room charges will be put on this card. You do have the option to stop by the front desk and pay down on your balances with some other form of payment (cash, Disney Dollars, etc.) if you wish. Just keep in mind that they will process the charge once it gets to the set limit (usually $1500) so make sure you make that cash payment before your charges get that high if that's the way you want to go.

Also, free valet parking is something you often have to visit the front desk to get - sometimes it shows up as a room charge even when you have been flashing the blue DVC member card.

If Disney chooses to give you any discounts with your room key, that is their choice - we just hand over our blue card after being asked several times in a row for that in addition to the room key.

Renters do get (like all onsite guests) free self parking at the hotels and parks.

This happens with DDE too. I think it's because the valets (incorrectly) scan your parking tag, which adds it to your room account. When valeting, I always put my parking tag in my glove box, to prevent such "accidents."
