Rented DVC points last minute change advice

Hello and thank you for any ideas you may have. I rented DVC points and now my husband has decided last minute to join me on my trip. I cannot seem to get a hold of the owner as I did it through a broker, it is the weekend, and my trip starts on Monday (leave it to my husband to make a last minute decision to go). Right now I am the only person on the reservation and the only one who will be in the room. I wanted to add him to my reservation but that is where I am stuck with not being able to get a hold of the owner. Can he just go with me without being on the actual reservation. I really don't see why that would be a problem as he has tickets and there is theme park reservation availability. I have a reservation to allow me onto the resort property. Also, I was able to (so I think I was successful) in getting him on the Magical Express. Make sense? I just don't want to get there and he gets turned away for not being on the reservation with me. Unless he's on the resort reservation, he's not going to be allowed to board Magical Express.

Since it's unlikely you'll be able to get him added before Monday (not impossible, but unlikely), plan to have him added as a "day guest" when you get to the resort. I don't think they can add guests onto DVC reservations at the front desk.

Magical express is theissue you may have at this point and if that happens, you Uber or rent a car for the day.

Keep trying to get him officially added and when you check in, as mentioned, see about adding him, Just be sure that the CM knows to not make any other adjustments because it could mess up the members account.

I have successfully modified the guest list on my DVC reservation at the resort -- but, my experience was at Disneyland and Aulani. WDW is a whole different animal due to DME and MDE.

I have found that at a certain point DVC MS cannot modify a reservation (maybe once you're a day or two out? Which is where you are) -- my advice would be to see if you can call the resort directly and see if they will modify the reservation for you.

But, worst case, I agree with starry_solo, once you get to the resort, the front desk should be able modify the guest list and add your DH.

I also agree that you will probably have problems with him being allowed to get on the Magical Express since he isn't on the room. But, again, I never take the ME I always rent a car, so my experience here is limited.

I wouldn’t worry about the ME. The folks at the Magical Express are very understanding and happy to help (when there’s room on the bus they’ve let extras on with us several times- and right now there should be plenty of room!)... and if you were already able to add him to your ME, then you are definitely good to go!!

Like others have said... Once you get to your resort, you should ask the front desk and to add your husband to your room... at the very least he can be considered a day guest and given a key to the room. They can also help you get him on the ME return trip with you.

I’d go ahead and book those park passes today! I hope you have a wonderful trip with your hubby!!
