I have rented points for a 1BR in SSR and am tied in. I recieved a code for a studio in SSR that gave me a great rate for a "cash" room. Am able to book the studio and request next to a lock off 1BR, or is that a stretch?

It's a stretch but you could have your landlord make the request anyway. "Connecting room with the Smith party". You need to make the same request for the cash reservation also. The reservations will be kept separate and not linked.

You have two different inventories. One through DVC as a points reservation and one through DCR as a cash reservation. They can't be linked, but they can be noted on each reservation. When you check in, see if they were able to connect them. Hopefully, you are connected and not just close. Or even in different buildings.

Are you trying to get a two bedroom for one family for the extra beds, or do you have more adults traveling with you.

There is no guarentee with a request that you'll end up with the connecting studio - and I think its a pretty high risk that you won't end up with the connecting studio. So if your "second bedroom" occupants are adults that could stay in a studio, its worth a shot. If your second bedroom occupants are your children and you are just thinking that with this great rate in your hand you might as well have them sleep somewhere other than the living room - I think your chances of ending up with a studio that doesn't connect are really high - in which case you'll have spent money you can't really convienently get anything for.

Since your reservation is at SSR, I am more hopeful than some of the other posters that your request may be honored. If you are going at a time when the resort is totally booked (e.g. first week of December or Christmas week), your chances will be diminished. The bigger resorts give the room assigner more options so you are lucky to be at SSR. Ask the person from whom you are renting the reservation to request that the rooms be connecting and provide the reservation number of the other room. Make a similar request from CRO. Request again at check-in. Good luck!
