How far in advance would you begin looking for rental deals? We are leaving Nov 30 for a week and I am not getting any stellar deals right now....When would be a more better time to start looking?

Its not too soon to be looking for rental deals. But don't stop once you find a good one. Keep checking and if you see a better price grab it. Car rentals are not like plane tickets, you can cancel and rebook them at any time.

I have tried most of the codes on mousesavers and for me the best codes I have found so far are the KISS2 code from dollar as well as the magicard code (posted on mousesavers) for Thrifty.

I usually book right away and then keep cancelling and rebooking if the price comes down. I booked a minivan for our October trip a couple of months ago using the ocvb code with Dollar. I got a minivan for 8 days for $242.

I book early and re-book often. Generally, I have found that I get better deals between a month and a few days before the trip. However, since I am always looking for a better deal I start searching the minute the plane tickets are booked!
