We will be going in September, and my son will be just about 14 months old. He is good sized for his age, but I am curious as to whether anyone has used one of Disney's strollers for kids this age and if they were too big for them. I've used them for DD, but she was 2 and 3 years old. Can't quite remember if the strollers had locking straps for laps either?! :confused3 Thanks for any input!

I would think he would be plenty big enough. Really, they are just not good for laying down babies. We loved renting strollers when ours were younger. Not sure about the straps, anyone???

I wouldn't choose a rental for a 14 month old. I'm not saying it can't be done, but my kids needed a comfy, reclining stroller with a snacking tray, at that age. The rentals are great for older kids, but little ones, IMO, are best off in a regular stroller. Plus, you will probably need one for around the resort, downtown disney, etc.

I can't remember if the rentals have straps or not. My DS was 3 when we rented and we didn't use a strap but I can't say whether or not the stroller had one.

You could look into renting one from an offsite place like www.abbf.com. I've never rented from them but I have read very positive reviews on these boards about them.

We used a double last year with DS2 and DS4, and I think they did have lap straps, because DS2 kept trying to escape. I do think that a 14 month old might be a little young for the rentals, but that also depends on how much time he'll spend in it.

My vote goes~ please bring your own comfy stroller. One that is padded and the baby can lay down in. Disney strollers are hard plastic and is hard to nap in.

looking at the picture on the Allearsnet Stroller FAQ it does look like they have a lap strap.

I agree with the others though. At that age, my ds needed his nice comfy stroller that we could lay him down in when he napped. And at that age he would take 2hr naps in his stroller with no problem (we also used this stroller cover to block out most of the light). I don't think he would have rested nearly as well in one of the rentals.

hth.

If you don't want the hassle of bringing your own with you, A Baby's Best Friend www.abbf.com is a great option. We used them a couple years ago and they were wonderful!

Thanks everyone! For those of you who have used ABBF, what is the policy if the stroller gets stollen while you are renting it? Do you have to pay the rental fee PLUS total cost of the stroller? Right now this seems to be the logical choice, I am just worried about incurring extra charges.

My 18 month was happy as a clam in one...but it was a double and when he was tired the 5 yr old walked and he layed across the seat of the stoller to nap.
