Rental stroller or duoglider?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has rented the double stroller from the parks? Are they comfy for a 2 and almost 6 yr. old? I was thinking of brining my own but it might be a pain to fold on mononrail and buses. The other do the rental strollers have cup holders or a storage basket because I only remeber a little mesh bag for storage. Thanks for any info.. Also the price of the stroller for a week will add up.

I always liked renting at the parks once my dd's were 2 but it is costly. Others prefere to have the stroller outside the parks so its personal preference really.

We always rent strollers (and other things) from A Baby's Best Friend rental in Orlando. Theirs are more comfy, less expensive, and cleaner than any of park strollers. I also liked the fact that we have it the whole time we are there for other excursions (mall shopping, non-Disney [gasp!] parks, and nightly strolls on property. I brought my own for my 2 and 5 year olds. You don't have to fold them down on the monorail. I went on the trip by myself and I managed fine on the buses. The rental ones don't look comfortable at all. My vote is bring your own

I have done a ton of on-line research trying to find the same answer. What i have found and will be doing is bringing a duo-glider for for a 3 yr old & 7 mth old. Why? ... Rentals do not recline, are fair game to be mistakenly walked off with, have little storage, seem to sit kids low to the ground, and can not be used outside the park. I don't like the idea of carrying a sleeping or 2 sleeping kids to the bus/monorail along with all our diaper bags & purchases. Also, it gives the kids a place to sit and relax/nap after a long day. And a stroller in the monorail line at 5pm (which tends to be LONGGG) is a way to keep the knee high tikes from being trampled! As for Duo vs 2 singles.... I think carrying one tank of a stroller is easier than juggling 2 strollers.

I have been going over this question over and over in my mind. I can't figure out what I want to do. I am taking a 3, 4 and 5 year old to the parks. We have a one to one ratio of adults to children. I don't want us to have to deal with fiddling with 3 different umbrella strollers. (I like the idea of the rental ones b/c of the shade) Plus, at home at the zoo and at Dollywood we rent the double with the three kids. When the 5 year old gets tired he will sit in the seat and the 3 year old sits b/n he his legs. It worked well for us last year locally.

Then, I start thinking... why not buy a double umbrella stroller with a sun shade(a cheapy is about the same as renting) . If we do that... will we have to bring another umbrella stroller for the third. Will they argue about who sits with who? Who gets the single? Plus, we will have all of our stuff and 3 strollers to contend with. There is always the latches that connect two umbrella stroller, but I have heard those are cumbersome to manuever.

What to do? What to do? I keep wondering about how far we will have to walk getting to the bus to go back to POP AND from the bus to the hotel room. (do I really want to carry and 50+ pound 4 year old any distance? Can my mom carry my 30+ 3 year old if I have to carry the exhausted 4 year old?) What a debate and I don't know which works best for my group. My mom sounds against bringing our own b/c she doesn't want to deal with them on the buses and monorail.

Thanks for the link. Last year we rented, but they are expensive, little to no storage and don't recline. I think we will go with abbf next time.

We just don't like to bring our own because it is a major pain hauling that and the carseat through airports.

OP - with a 2 yr old and 5 yr old, why don't you bring one umbrella stroller, and rent when needed for the 5 yr old? My 5 yr old walked with us the entire 4 day trip. I don't know if she would have if we were there for 7-8 days, but she certainly didn't need a stroller all the time. It's much easier to get around, especially when it is crowded after parades,etc, without a double stroller of any kind! You could just rent one in the afternoons if you needed one.
