I just have to share...

I've seen many threads on several different disboards about stroller rental. I've always been a huge fan of renting Disney's double stroller. Sure it's expensive and hard plastic, but holy moly, it's just so darn convenient to leave it where ever you're done with it! No folding it up and lugging it onto a bus, etc.

Ladies and gents...I had a life changing...okay, well maybe more like Disney-vacation changing experience. Circumstances led me to rental a double stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals (http://www.orlandostrollerrentals.com/) based on the recommendation someone made on this board. What's funny, though, is that every time I saw someone mention this site/service I rolled my eyes thinking, "Is this a paid endorser?" Everyone's experience with them seemed just *too good*. KWIM?

So anyway, we got to the Wilderness Lodge early in the morning. I had spoken with Shannon, who owns the business, I believe, prior to our trip and she agreed to have a stroller waiting for us at 8:00 AM. I went to retrieve it from the bell services desk, just as she had instructed...they sent me to the front desk. They didn't have it. I called and left a message for Shannon, telling her we were anxious to start our fun and to please call me back because it appeared that the stroller was not at the lodge. I went back to bell services one more time and said, "Humor me...her email specifically says to come here. Can someone please check?" They did and sure enough! The stroller WAS there. I called Shannon leaving her a message, letting her know it had been found. She returned my call promptly to apologize for any inconvenience. I started to laugh and said to my husband "This girl is good! It wasn't her fault at all! The stroller was here the whole time!"

Now trust me when I tell you this. I'm a pain in the rear when it comes to strollers. I'm picky. My girls are 5 and 4. My 5 year old is 46 inches. She's a tall gal! I was skeptical about her fitting in the stroller comfortably. Much to my delight she did! In fact, she loved reclining back and chilling out for a bit when she got tired.

When we got it, the stroller was very clean and in excellent shape. We loved the extended sun shades as we had a really warm and sunny week. Our backpack and jackets fit under the seats. Our water bottles and other bags fit well behind them. We sometimes had to have our girls stand up to get the stuff from underneath, but it was no big deal and happened once a day or so. Last, there was a little packet of instructions and a container with band-aids tied onto the stroller, which came in handy when my younger daughter scraped her knee at Epcot.

The stroller was a dream to maneuver in the parks, fold up and put on the bus. There is a video on the website about how to fold it - it really is that easy! I told Shannon this on our last day there, but if I had known about it when my girls were like 2 and 6 months, I would have definitely bought one! I know it's expensive, but it was SO great! Seriously, how many products can you buy that suit your family from ages 1 to almost 6?

Now here's the best part... Our rental fee with tax was about $90 for seven full days. The Disney stroller rental would have been $189 for that same amount of time. And it was a huge blessing to have a stroller with us at the resort, as my 4 year old tends to simply decide she cannot walk another step. We saved our backs and a whole lot of energy being able to put her in the stroller immediately after getting off a bus.

Now I know it seems like I'm a paid endorser, but I promise I'm not. As long as my kiddos will fit into this stroller, I will rent it over and over again. The equipment, itself, was wonderful and the customer service was even better. I couldn't recommend Orlando Stroller Rentals more. They were so great! :worship:

The double - I think it's the Baby Jogger Twin City Mini. Sorry I didn't mention that.

This is another non-paid endorsment :)
After reading the recommendations I called Shannon to see if she had availability for a week over Christmas...on short notice...and she did!!!
Unfortunately, the stroller I had ordered before I found orlandostrollerrentals.com was shipped to me (I had asked my international shipping company to hold it in the US.) and had to cancel my ressie :( Shannon was so nice about it and promptly replied to my email and refunded my paypal. Next time I need a stroller for WDW...I'm going with Orlandostrollerrentals!!!

Do you know what a buggy board is? Do you think it could attach to the back of the double stoller? I have 3 kids and while my oldest two do not use a stroller at home, I am confident they will be exhausted and complaining if they walk all day, every day of our vacation. We are also going the week after Easter, so I would like to make sure everyone is all together...a little less likely to "lose" someone in the crowd. The 7 night price is so much better than renting the strollers from WDW.

Also, is it really as easy to fold up as the demo video shows? We will be using Disney transporation, so how hard is it to get on and off of the bus? How much space does it take up once you are on the bus? We rented the stroller from Disney we were there last time, so we didn't have to deal with a stroller on the buses and I don't remember seeing anyone with one either. Once again, we will be there over Easter, so I am confidient the buses will be packed full.

I had to google what a buggy board, but I'm not really sure the stroller will accomodate one. When my girls reclined, we really had to make sure we weren't walking with the stroller too close to our body otherwise we were bumping their heads.

And yes, folding the stroller really is as easy as it looks on the video. I was skeptical, but it was a one step fold by grabbing the two handles clearly marked on the seats. One word of advice, though (which probably seems obvious) is to make sure you have everything removed from all pockets of the stroller before folding it. We, more than once, forgot and had a bag and water bottle fall straight to the ground. LOL

As far as the bus goes, we would grab it with two hands by the side and either slide it between seats, lean it up against the wall of the ramp/elevator used to load ECVs or wheelchairs or sit in in front of our legs if the bus had seats that faced inward. Only once did it kind of get in the way, but the bus was REALLY crowded and we had gotten stuck in the last row. I'm sure if we had two more seconds and two less people there, we could have worked it out better.

When we left, my older daughter got teary because she thought we were taking the stroller with us. LOL I swear, if my kids were just like a year younger I think I would still consider buying it for myself.

We are going this route on our feb trip for our 2 and 4 year olds. I am so glad to hear you were satisfied and had no issues with the delivery minus the minor issue on disney's end, loading onto busses or comfort for two kids.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post!

I had never heard of that company...

I have always used www.abbf.com A baby's best friend. They have been in business for over 8 years and consistantly had great reviews.

:thumbsup2

I'll have to second that glowing endorsement. I rented a double stroller with them for our October trip, and it was just so amazing. It really was an easy transaction and such a good handling stroller. I'll do it again next time.

Here is the write up I did after our trip:

We're renting from Orlando Stroller rentals for our trip in February. I actually had paid for my rental, and ended up changing my trip dates.

I contacted Shannon and she was very accommodating for changing my rental period.

I'm looking forward to our trip, and for trying out this new stroller!
