Is there a policy for where a rental scooter must be parked overnight?
We are staying at POR in Jan. We are 3 adults and an 11 yr old in one room and it would be nice to not have the scooter in the room overnight.

This will be my sister's second time renting. Her first experience in WDW with an Electric Scooter was very positive. She is concerned we will be too strapped for room with 4 of us as opposed to just her and myself the last time she got one.

It would still block the building egress. I'm pretty sure the policy is that it is not allowed. Though the policy is rarely enforced.

We stayed in POR Riverside and were able to fit the 2 scooters in the room overnight without blocking anyone’s path to bathroom. 4 of us in the room. We put one on each side of the entry door, like this:

We just had to move that chair. There were outlets on each wall for charging.

People have fit 2 ECVs in a value room; it will fit in a POR room. It is against fire code to leave it unattended where it could block egress. A year or so ago a regular poster shared her experience with a middle-of-the-night fire alarm and how an ECV caused a bottleneck for guests trying to evacuate. Plus I suspect the rental agency does not want it parked outside your room anyway. You wouldn’t leave a laptop out there to charge overnight. Why would you leave an expensive piece of equipment out where anyone could mess with it?

Thank you all. I know it can fit in our room as we did that prior when it was the 2 of us. My sister is very worried that her scooter will be a nuisance for our party of 4. I'm sure we can make it work!
Now, I'm hoping for a WDW discount so we might move over to the ASM Family suites.

At worst you may have to move a chair to create a bigger space. However, I have stayed at POR countless times and keep the rental scooter AND my personal (battery doesn't last long enough) scooter in the room. Granted that my scooter remains in place the whole time. Lately, I've been staying at All-Stars resorts and - same thing - both fit with an occasional chair re-decorate.

You will see them inside, you will see them outside. Is it rude and dangerous to leave it outside? Yeah- if another ECV needs to get by, or a double stroller, or a housekeeping cart and you didn't leave enough space it's rude. If there is a fire and people need to evac, it's dangerous. Will Disney get mad at you for parking outside? Nope, they don't give a darn. Yet to hear of anyone getting in trouble for parking outside.

Fun fact- parking outside a room is strictly against the rules at all Swolphin properties citing fire codes. Bell Services will hold your ECV for free (and even charge it) or you can park it in your room. Which begs the question- did Disney get more lenient fire codes than Marriott at their hotels? Or do they just ignore select fire codes? hmmmm....

have seen teens drive someone else's ECV all over pop ( the owner was quite upset when she came out the next morning, and it was gone.). I have also seen someone spill (probably on purpose) soda all over the set of one. I would never leave something outside my room that I did not want walking away or getting something on.
