The car rental rates have just dropped again for the last week in August.

If you have a rental with Dollar or Thrifty, you may want to check and see if you can reduce your rate or upsize your vehicle.

Yes on Alamo too. I just reserved a minivan for my daughter and family for Aug. 15-24 (10 days) and got it for $313 including taxes. Not bad. She had a choice of a standard size SUV too for $251, but needs to seat 6. Not sure if the standard SUV has a 3rd seat.

Did you use any codes, I need to seat 6. I just reserved at Dollar for $276.23 with the AMEX special. Now if they go up I will be locked in under $300.

That's good. How many days? I used the Visa free day coupon. I found a Visa code to use: 7013310 and the free day: AD1462JOO. Not sure if these code will help even further.
