ITA. And I am willing to bet that Disney (via CRO) rents out proportionally more Friday and Saturday nights to the general public for cash than it does Sundays - Thursdays. In my experience, non-DVC members (especially those within driving distances) prefer weekends over weekdays. Many stay over the weekends on both ends of the trip.
I agree that this is probably true, and - this is a different topic - but I think this has an impact on how are points are "valued" by Disney. Remember that CRO books rooms based upon points that members use for things like cruises, non-dvc disney resorts. Often, CRO rents rooms at a discount. Plus, the weekend nights they probably rent more of use more "points." So the cash value they are getting per point is lower than "we" value it as. So, the number of points that they charge for the cruises and non-dvc resorts is higher than we feel the value is. That's how I think it is working out.
Also, back to the point of this thread, I agree 100% that points should be rented for "what the market bears," but I also think that sometimes we as dvc owners may overestimate what the market is if we use rack rates, as someone already posted there are often rates for less. But, the market is the market.
