Rental rates changing daily

I can't stress enough...check rental rates every day! Yesterday Budget was at $163.59 for a full size car & today it was down to $156.64 (Using BCD W852828, plus they have a $20 off coupon bringing it down to $136.54 after taxes, etc - you can use BCD X793201 but both gave the same price). I may be able to rent a car for not much more then I would pay for the town car service! National looked pretty good too, yesterday I got a full size quote for $144.79 after taxes using Contract ID 6600330 (thanks mousesavers/com). I am going to keep checking all of the agencies onsite at the airport (Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar and National) daily to see how low I can get! Looks like the others were all around $150+ but I'll keep checking!! Hope this helps others who are thinking of renting!

We are 8-28 through 9-4 with Dollar using MAG code for compact with all taxes $149.94. I signed up for fastlane and they included an upgrade coupon. So, we should get an intermediate for that price. Pretty good I think. I have made 3-4 different reservations because their price keeps going down.

Arriving 9/26, departing 10/1. Renting a FULL SIZE car.
I got most of the info from mousesavers.com. They have a whole section on rental car discounts.
That is where I got codes & the info on the $20 off for Budget. Also, I have a Costco membership & they have codes too but you don't need them, I used the ones provided by Budget off of the $20 off coupon - anyone can use it. I even called them to confirm I was doing everything right & the customer service/reservation lady said I did it right & I'll get the $20 OFF the price I reserved so again, a FULL SIZE car for $136.64. You just print the coupon right off the internet, I am looking at the print out & it shows the website to be http://www.budget.com/partners/disney.html. Yep, I just pasted it & it works, brings you right to the coupon which gives you the BDC (code) to use! Try that.
But KEEP TRYING often because you never know if it will go down. I did not even have to give a credit card # for the ressie!
rrschneck - I don't think your "deal" with Dollar is all that great since I am getting a FULL SIZE for less. Give it a try! I want to help all the DIS'ers I can!

ErinInCT - Thanks for your thoughts. We are flying into Tampa. Dollar is in the terminal. We are Fastlane members now so it should be easier. There are 3 of us and 2 bags and 1 carry on. The compact I reserved will be fine and the free upgrade is a bonus. I don't like driving around in big cars and we will be using the WDW bus system while we are there anyway.

Blueberry - I think it depends on your dates. I tried to use the MAG code for our December trip and the web sight told me the same thing it told you. We are flying into Orlando in December and only staying 5 nights so I reserved a towncar through Florida Tours. Less hassle and less expensive during the Christmas season.

I might try the code for May though and see if it works that far out.

I'm sorry for all the questions. I tried code X793201 for budget and it came up higher for me. But when I tried W852828 it brought it down but I didnt see W852828 on their website. Can yu tell me where you got that code from. I dont want to use it if I'm not supposed too. Thanks. looked up on mousesavers and didnt see that code on there.

I actually just called budget and had them apply code W852828. The other code x793201 came out to be higher. I just saved myself $3.00 any little bit helps But the lady never told me if I needed a coupon or anything when she applied it. Do you know if I will need one? Thanks for the info.

I have two reservations (yes, we are renting two cars).
One at National for 10 days, full size, all taxes = 179.14
Same scenario at Alamo = 178.96.
I don't think I can do any better. But, I do keep looking.

I just tried both codes for the heck of it and the full size for us using either code came up over $200. It really depends on your dates.

Blueberry - The MAG code did not work for December 2004 or May 2005. Again, depends on your dates of travel.

My national went down again today. Sept 3 - 9th (actually 7 days..since pick up is morning and drop off is night) using the entertainment code and the 6600330..now, with tax, etc total on the aisle is $122.19. Dec hasn't changed yet.

That code was from having a Costco membership. If you belong to a warehouse club BJ's, Sam's, Costco) they have a travel dept & can get you a code. Last time I tried I got the same amount with the Costco code (W852828) & the coupon code (X793201). To get the coupon go to:

Print it out & bring it with you & they'll apply the $20 discount at the time you rent the car.
I doubt they will make me show my Costco card when we pick up the car.

OMG, I just checked Budget again (using Costco code) & now it went down ANOTHER $10 to $146.12, less the $20 coupon, only $126.12 for a weekly FULL SIZE car!!
Yippee for me!!
Oh, I also checked with the coupon code (X793201) & it came up with the same low price!!

I don't think that you can use the $20 off plus a discount code b/c I had asked the lady on the phone from budget and she said you can only use one or the other

I hope I don't forget to bring my BJ's card with me b/c that would really stink if I forgot it and they ask for it . I usually empty all my credit cards and stuff out of my purse before I go away.

Depending on the code and coupon you can use both. My BJ's gives me a coupon to use with a code for Budget. IE: 20.00 off weekly rental. BCD# v923039 coupon mugz065. In this case you can use both. You cannot, however, use a BJ's code with a Sam's coupon or a Budget special code with a BJ's coupon.

I called Budget too. I gave the cust service lady my conf # & said I also had the 20% off coupon. I asked her if the ressie reflected the $20 off or would I get $20 off at time of payment. She said bring the coupon & I get the $20 off the price on my ressie, so you can use both. In fact, the coupon from the net specifically says "Get up to 25% off AND take an extra $20 off the weekly rental".
My main point is this:
No matter what you use or who you rent through, continue to check rates daily as they seem to change often!!
