Rental Question

for those of you who are DVC members who have also rented NonDVC/concierge points............

If I rent points, can they be combined with my regular DVC points to make a ressie at a Non-DVC resort? (I would have to combine points in order to stay more than one night) Also, do they retain the use year where they'll be transferred FROM ?

Am I making sense?

Yes, they can be combined with your points. The concierge points began as regular points, and then someone rented a concierge room and later canceled. Once the points have been allocated to the concierge room, they can't go back to regular points, they must be used on some other concierge collection room. Someone on the rent/trade board has 42 for rent at $6 a pt. Maybe you could use these, and take the extra that you need from your own account. Just remember that if you cancel you will have a similar problem with your own points. Also, you don't have to transfer the pts to your account--you can have the renter make the ressies for you, which is easier than transferring points. And, yes, it's my understanding that the points retain their same use year, but I was once told by another member that once they go into your account, MS can't tell what the use year was. I can't prove that one, but it's possible.

And how far in advance can we make Disney collection reservations? 11months, 7 months??

All non-DVC reservations may be made 11 months in advance.
