Please help with a quick answer. When I rent points how do I purchase Ultimate Park Hopper tickets and can I make PS reservation. Or do I have to depend on the owner for these things?

You can make a PS any time by calling 407-wdw-dine - you don't even have to be a WDW Resort guest. (as long as you're making the request within the allowed timeframe)

As far as the tickets - once you check into the DVC resort, you are then a WDW resort guest - and are entitled to purchase tickets like any other guest.... If you're hoping to purchase tickets in advance, someone else will have to address your question - as we've always just purchased AP's.

Hope this helps...

You can only purchase UPH if you are staying at a Disney Resort and if I am correct you have to purchase them at the front desk. Advance purchase is not available on UPH.

DVC members do get a 10% discount off rack rates.

Thanks...does that mean I, as a renter, can get 10% off at check in, or do I need to ask the owner to procure tickets for me?

The owner cannot procure UPH tickets for you. They are not available to anyone for advance purchase when you use points to pay for a stay at a DVC resort. UPH tickets may only be purchased at check in.

Technically, renters are not entitled to the 10% DVC discount on UPH tickets. That is only supposed to be for DVC members and the people who are staying with them. However, there have been reports by renters that the CM did give them the discount. Apparently, it is up to the CM at the front desk, so you might receive the discount. Best not to count on it, though.

Anyway, you can for sure buy UPH tickets (at the gate price) when you check in.

Enjoy your stay!

Are the UPH tickets the same as your room keys? Also, do these still slip through a machine at the park gates? I was trying to figure some way to keep them "safe and tidy" during our 8 day trip. I think it would be nice to have them on a string around your neck like a ski lift ticket but then, they didn't ask me what I thought. LOL

Yes, if you purchase them when you check in at the resort, they will encode the park ticket admission onto your room key. If you say it's OK, and lay down a credit card at check-in, they will also set up the key for charging priviledges which eliminates the need to carry a lot of cash.

I have sucessfully rented points for the 2nd half of my 6 night vacation for this coming December. I will have 3 nights at The Swan, and then 3 nights at BWV on rented points. I think the best way for me to get my 7 day park hopper ticket is to order it in advance on the official Disney web site. I like the idea of a ticket that does not expire. This is a solo trip for me. I get an attack of the " What if's ", Meaning " What if I don't feel well that day, and I don't go to a park ? " At least the ticket is not wasted, and I can save that day for next year.

Claudia,
I think thay is probably your best bet. The UPH does not really work for transfers between hotels and you may very well decide to skip a day and just shop or something. You might look into a Park Hopper plus if you think you might want to spend one day at a waterpark.

Yes, you can - if you buy the PHP ticket at check in. That means you will pay gate prices. If you buy tickets in advance or from one of the ticket brokers, you can get a discount. However, those discounted tickets cannot be coded onto your room key.
