Rental or bus from airport?

I thought I posted this a bit ago, but it doesn't show, so if it is a dupe, please forgive. Anyhow, we are going to have a rental for a week, with a few days at WDW. We are dropping two of our kids off at the airport the day of the cruise, and intended to just drive on, and park at the dock. HOWEVER, would be be better to turn in the car, take the shuttle bus, then return at the end and rent again? What is the cost of the shuttle R/T, and where would I sign up for it if interested? Thanks

Ive always thought it better to go by car from the airport as otherwise you ahve to wait around for the bus....its nice to be independant!
we'll be taking our rental car with us to the Port and parking it there as we're staying offsite before and after the cruise

We did a similar thing on our 4 nt. Wonder back in March. Flew in the night before, rented a car, and stayed at the Sheraton Suites by the airport ($57 on Hotwire!), parked at the port, then did 4 nights after the cruise at WDW. It was much cheaper (even including the parking) than renting 2 separate cars or taking the transfers and renting a car afterward. Got a premium Avis car with Priceline. Also, we were able to bring our carseats from home and just leave them in the car the whole time and not pay extra to rent, or try to find storage for them on the ship.

The transfers are $50 pp/rt, so for our family of 4 the transfers alone would have been $200. I think the rental car was less than that for the whole 10 days.

profdsny, you didn't say how long you were cruising.
We're doing a 7-day on the Magic leaving this weekend. We are staying 2 days before and 2 days after and it was cheaper to do 2 one-way rentals than to rent a car for 12 days and pay for parking.
