Rental homes (4 BR +) near WDW?

Hi everyone,

We are planning an extended family trip for next year, 7 adults and two teens. Our family of 4 has always stayed on property or in the Marriott World Ctr so I'm unfamiliar with the seemingly endless number of rental villa communities near WDW. I'm hoping for suggestions of properties within a few miles of MK or EPCOT that has at least 4 BR and a backyard pool. Thanks in advance!

We have rented pool homes many times over the years. The location of the type of home you are looking for isn't going to be all that close to MK or Epcot - look at a map and you will see they are well surrounded by Disney properties, not neighborhoods. (I also think the county line is related here - most of the single family rental homes are in Osceola County whereas a good part of the Disney property is in Orange County - I think there are house rental restrictions there but could be wrong!)

In any case, I would recommend looking on VRBO.com by neighborhood. Most of these are closest to Animal Kingdom, south and soutwest of the intersection of 192 and Formosa Gardens Blvd. There are lots of 4 bedroom pool homes. One question is do you want a gated entrance? Personally I prefer not to have it so I don't have to wait in line to get back in. But I see the advantage of security. Two gated options: Emerald Island Resort and Windsor Palms. Not gated - Oak Island Harbor and Oak Island Cove. If you are looking on VRBO, the area's "Kissimmee Central West" and "Kissimmee West" contain lots of neigborhoods roughly in the same area I mentioned. You can search by # of bedrooms.

None of them are that close to MK because MK is so far north of the entrances. Windsor Palms, Windsor Hills, and Emerald Island are the closest gated communities, all are by the main entrance but Sherberth road is often quicker. They have websites of their own so you don't have to pay the VRBO/Homeaway or Flipkey booking fee.
