Rental Home Question...help!!!!

I have a question. I am ready to book a villa in the Eagle Pointe development. I got a reply from an inquiry I made at onlinefloridavillas.com It had the link to see it etc. We have been corresponding back and forth with the owner, and she accepted our booking last night, and sent the booking form/terms & conditions this morning. Now when I hit the link to look at the pictures ( to realaxingly look now that I know we have somewhere ) It says sorry we cannot find the page you requested. If I put in the ref number of the home (the one on the first reply to my inquiry) it says there is no such villa with that number. I know it was there when I looked before, because I have been showing it to my husband. It does have its own website (which I linked to from a web address on the booking form that I just got today. But it is like it is just the owners own website, not in anyway linked to the onlinefloridavillas site that I first got the inquiry reply from. Should I be worried?? How can I find out if this is legit? What websites can I check this out on? I just dont want to give my money to something that is not legit and then get down there and have no house for two weeks!! HELP!!! thanks!!

Call the management company and ask them. There's a phone number at the bottom of the web page. It is possible that the owners have changed management companies; if so, find out who the new one is, and call them directly.

This site requires that the owners do certain things on the listing.One is that they verify their ownership at regular intervals -usually every 6 months and another is that the owners log onto the attached forum at regular intervals .Failure to do either of these result in their listing being susupended temporarily but it will be reinstated as soon as they have complied.

Another more serious reason for listings having disappeared is that owners sometimes pass on rental inquiries to people who do not list on the site -which is against the site rules so sometimes owners who break this golden rule get removed -I am not suggesting this is what has happened but merely explaining what has happened in the past.
I would suggest you e mail the site owners on
info@orlandovillas.com

and give them the villa ref number and express your concerns and they will hopefully be able to put your mind at rest as to why the home is no longer showing.

Thank you Jannyans, I did just that, emailed them. Hopefully I get an answer fairly quickly, so I can decide what to do about the booking form. We really liked the look of this home, I just want to make sure it is ok. Also, if it is not, book one of the other ones I had on my list before they are gone also!!

You are welcome The owners John & Roger are usually very quick at answering e mails .I am sure all will be well -even if the home has been removed for any reason you still have contact with the owners.

Thank you again! Roger did get back with me really quickly, it is as you said, she hasnt logged onto the forum and it JUST expired, but all will be well when she does. I also checked the county site to see if she does indeed own the villa etc, and she does. So all is well!! I love this board!!!
