I'm considering a 6-bedroom rental home, and have been getting quotes from a variety of sites (thank you all so much for the help!)

From someone who has rented, please comment on the following in terms of community amenities, and particularly commuting time to the parks:

Rolling Hills
Formosa Gardens
Cumbrian Lake
Hamptom Lake

Rolling Hills and Formosa Gardens have been discussed before, but the other ones I haven't seen comments on. Any other communities with big homes that you can think of?????

Thanks for any help! I'm getting cross-eyed reading about all of these homes. I feel like I'm moving myself! LOL!

PattiPB,We rented a huge 5 Bed/4 Bath home in Hampton Lakes this past December. We loved the area.Traffic never seemed to be congested on 27. There was a grocery store about a 1/2 mile away.Which was very convenient! The house was www.villaraymar.com
It took us about 40 minutes from the Airport and about 30 minutes to Universal Studios. This was the first time I've ever driven in a big city and it was soooo easy.I was nervous about driving but lots of great people on this forum told me not to worry...And it worked out great!
Hampton Lakes is very quiet and upscale and some of the homes look HUGE!
Have Fun searching out different homes (let me know if you would like me to post websites to a few great houses I have found while searching!)
Good Luck,
Debbie

I appreciate the link---that was a home I hadn't found on any other websites, and it looked really good! We have 10 people, so 5 bedrooms would work. I especially like having the garage converted to a game room!

Please feel free to email me the websites of other homes you considered.

Anybody else!?!?!?!?!?

Hi PattiPB,Take my word for it that home is fabulous! The pool/jacuzzi and deck are huge! We used the game room every night! And the owners are great to deal with too!
Here are a couple more: www.byronflorida.com
www.aquilohouse.co.uk
And heres a general website for some really great homes:
www.vr360homes.co.uk

Good Luck and keep us updated on how house hunting is going!!
Debbie

We have stayed in Hampton Lakes as well. I booked through Orlandovillas.com it is #109 on the website. It is a 5bedroom 3 bath. It accomodates up to 10. We had 6 adults and 2 kids and had 1 bedroom completely empty. It was like new, and made all of us not want to go home.

The only thing to remember is Hampton Lakes is a 15-20 minute drive to Disney property. In the mornings we kept hitting traffic. We didn't mind the drive, but that matters to some people.

We LOVE formosa Gardens 5bdrm/4 bath home!!!! Rolling Hills is across the street from entrance to F.G. It looks nice also. F.G.is gated and I like that since DH has some business mtgs. that go into evenings.(small security factor). Rolling Hills is not.Hope you have a great time and enjoy the home!!!

I found a beauty in Terra Verde. It is at the intersection of Poinciana and Oren Brown. We know the are well from the last time we rented a home off of Poinciana.

After some digging, Terra Verde sounds new and really beautiful. Anyone with any info on this development?

BTW deb---that house is not available for our time! BOO!!!!

Folly---do you have the link for that particular house?? Extra bathrooms are more important to us than extra bedrooms! LOL!!!!

Patti - as you will see from my signature, we have stayed at Formosa Gardens many times and we love it - upscale, new, and it really is "closest to Disney". We've also stayed at Cumbrian Lakes (which as you probably know is on Poinciana Blvd) and I would stay there again in a heartbeat - a little further out, but also a fabulous, new community.

The Cumbrian Lakes property we stayed at is here, although I don't think the pictures do it justice. The owners have spent tens (possibly hundreds) of thousands of dollars on movie memorabilia - every picture in the home (and they are everywhere) are of the type for sale at Starabilias at Downtown Disney.

We are staying at Diamond Villa on Formosa Gardens in July which we have already viewed as we stayed at its sister villa next door (Emerald Villa) in January.

Feel free to PM me if you want any more info.

I tried to type ******************* with www in front!

Patti,

The web link is VRBO. You can go to map and click on Disney area.
There are literally hundreds of listings. I try to narrow my search to area that you would like. ( We love Formosa Gardens)!! Most of the owners have link to personal sights w/pictures and more details. The owners we rent from are in the U.K.(as many are) but they have a great management co. there in Kissimmee. Hope that this helps. Another sight with good selection is VillaDirect.

Beautiful home, but that Diamond Villa home is a full $1000 higher than other homes I've looked at---even in Formosa Gardens!!!

I'm off to try to find the Cumbrian Lakes one...
