Rental concerns can someone please help?

Hello Everyone,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but...
I have rented a DVC off of someone from DIS for a stay next week. As I'm getting ready I starting to get a few concerns, and now the member is away on vacation and can not be reached, so I'm freaking out a bit.
I have stayed at DVC before, with friends so I know the deal with using the DDP & ME. Both need to be booked in advanced and you pay for DDP when you get there.
I asked, and was told that I had both ME & the DxDDP booked for my stay. Now, a few days out I haven't gotten my ME tickets, and I was told they would be mailed directly to me.
Then:
I was reviewing my confirmation earlier and I noticed the fine print on the bottom states "DDP & ME must be added to the reservation in advance". There is no mention of either booked for my stay.
Please tell me that that is a standard line on all confirmation papers. Otherwise it means I have no DDP or ME and I will not be a happy camper.

Now is there a way I can call and 1) confirm that the ressie hasn't been canceled or something on me 2) make sure I have both things added?
I'm worried because I know they won't talk to nonmembers.
Do you think I could call the resort directly at this point and ask them if they see my reservation?

That's a standard line of text, so I wouldn't worry about that. Plus, if you told the member about ME and DDP I can't imagine he/she didn't call to add it. Did the reservation have your address on it? If not, the ME stuff would have been sent to the member's address. Unfortunately, you can't call - in dvc's eyes you don't exist. You could try the resort a few days before you arrive to see if they have ddp on your reservation, but if it's NOT on there for some reason, I don't believe you can add it without the member. Even though you're paying for it, the member is liable if you skip out on the charge via bad check or disputed credit card, so unless the members says add dining plan I don't think the front desk will do it (they shouldn't anyway).

It's incredibly rare that anyone has a problem with a rental - so I'd honestly just relax and not worry about it. There's nothing you can do anyway, so why elevate your blood pressure??

All of my confirmations have had this statement on them and I have had both DME and DDP each time. I couldn't tell you why you haven't received your DME documents yet, though.

With no way to contact the owner that you rented from, you are in a tough position. Unfortunately, this is the risk of renting. I have rented points twice, both times from the same person. Although I had complete trust in him throughout the process, I still had that gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach that something would go wrong and I wouldn't be able to fix it on my own. Unfortunately, the only relief for "rental indigestion" is that wonderful elixir known as "DVC membership":rotfl2: .

Renting points is a great way to save a lot of money and get great accommodations. Unfortunately, the other price you pay is the complete lack of control over your reservation. I am sure everything is fine with your reservation and you will have a great trip!:cheer2:
 
As others have said to MS you do not exist, but you might try calling the direct ME number (sorry I do not have it in front of me), I have seen postings that with the reservation number you can get information on the me reservation from them.

Found it 8665990951 if that is in place it probalby is a good indication that the DDP is done, and you can see why you have not received your DME package (have your reservation number ready)
