Well, I was planning another trip to WDW in August 2011, BUT, I just can't bring myself to take a trip without our oldest who will be in college....so, I'm thinking of just renting a house/townhouse/condo, for our 2011 vacation and doing Universal (which we have not done) and of course our Busch parks (seaworld, BGT, & aquatica) since we have season passes for busch gardens here in Va, we get in free in FL and we will go in June instead.

So, what are some nice rental communities in this area. I know that there is Bonnet Creek & Windsor Hills that are close to Disney, but I would really like something closer to Universal.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kim

There's not a lot since Orange County doesn't allow short term rentals. There's Vista Cay on Universal Blvd very near the Convention Center (condo/townhouse).
Floridays, The Fountains, Vistana village on south International Dr.

Subbing! I was going to post the same question. We liked Windsor Palms in the past, but this trip we will be going to Universal more and only 2 days at Disney, so was hoping for a 2 or 3 bed that is inexpensive and more on that side of town.

how about a timeshares?

Hilton Vacation Club is across the street from SW.

there are several marriotts close by - Grande Vista and Cypress Harbour and that other one still can't remember the name (used to be Horizons)

you can find rentals - redweek, mynetwork, condodirect, tug2.net,

I know what you are talking about. My oldest who is 18, this will be our first trip without her this year and im just so sad over it. I have so many memories of our trip last year and i know its going to be so hard. Who knows maybe booking an outside resort will help with the sadness. I know i cant go back to Contemporary this year so trying Wilderness Lodge hopefully that will help.

Thanks for the suggestions, looks like it is alot cheaper to stay closer to disney then some of the resorts closer to universal:confused3. I can get a 2 bedroom condo for $99, but vista cay will run us closer to $200. I guess we will just have to prepare for all of that wonderful Florida traffic:eek:

Tami82, we are going to orlando to the busch parks this June without our oldest, it's right after graduation and she has many plans and doesn't want to go this time, but she does next year. I know I will be burning her phone up while we're away.

Floridays and The fountains are both close to the area you want and resonably priced.

We are staying at Vista Cay in a 3 bedroom condo and it is only costing us $850 (w/tax) for a 7 night stay. (for Aug) :confused3 I thought that was rather good.

I looked up Floridays and it was way over.

You all made me nervous that I made a wrong choice! LOL!

That is a very good price, Kimberly, and you are going to absolutely love Vista Cay!!!
