rental cars at non-airport locations

We are Flying in late in the evening on Sat. and leaving mid day on Sunday so that would be 2 wasted days paying for a rental car b/c we could use magic express. Also we are planing to staying at a monorail resort the last 3 days of our trip and spending those at epcot and MK so may not really need one then either. My only concern is are rental car prices inflated at sites near disney so any savings would be offset?

I have rented from the CCC and the Swan, never have paid more for those locations than the AP. I've picked up at the CCC, dropped off at the AP and got a suburban for 7 days for under $300. Got that one 3 or 4 months out. Just have to be looking .

It would not be two wasted days because you are billed in 24 hour increments. So Sat 8:00 p.m to Sun 8:00 p.m is one day and so on and so forth. The only day you will loose out on is the last day if your return flight leaves before 8:00 p.m or what ever time you rental pick up started.

I'd also try looking into picking the car up at a local location but returning it to MCO. I was able to do that a few weeks ago and it was actually cheaper doing that than just renting it and returning it to the local place.
