Rental Car

[Kimmumum]

We need to rent a car (which we don't usually do) during our Disney trip in November. How do I rent a car and have it delivered to/from Animal Kingdom Lodge? I know DVC member have it done all of the time but do you have to call the company direct? Can I reserve it through SWA and just call them when I need it (it is only needed a couple of days not the whole trip)?

Any clarification would be great!

As far as I know, the only company that delivers is Enterprise. All the others you will have to go to the rental location and pick it up.

National/Alamo has a rental counter at thee Car Care Center. They will pick you up and shuttle you there.

As far as renting through SWA, I think that may work for airport locations only, but you may be able to enter a different location. I think you need to call the car care center to arrange the pick-up.

The last few times I rented a car it was Dollar and we picked it up at the Regal Sun Resort which is across from DTD. The resort may have a different name now as we have not rented in a couple of years. With codes and discounts it was the cheapest way to go. Sometimes it was cheaper to rent for 5 days or more than it was to rent for just 2. We have also rented from the Alamo location at the Swan with good luck. I have always booked them in adbvance.

just FYI

We recently found that renting from the airport for the whole trip was cheaper than renting on site for part of the trip. This included coupons and discounts on both reservations. We didn't use the car every day, but it was nice to have, and it saved money.

I scored a car from this place for 4 days in October. I believe I have budget. Pick up at airport and drop in off at a holiday inn by Downtown Disiney...$88 for a standard. Not a pickup/drop off at akv, but Holiday Inn has a free shuttle to WDW and even if they check to see if we're staying there and don't let me on..I'll catch a WDW bus in Downtown Disney. Under $100 was hard to pass up
