Ok, so I know I am checking WAY early. We are planning Oct 2010. I have been checking car rentals and they are a LOT more expensive than I remember them. Are these the NEW car rental prices or will they come down before I need them?

I'll be going in October 2010 as well. I've been watching them myself. Since it seems like a lot of companies aren't really booking that far in advance yet, eventually they will come down. Usually about 6 months out is when you will start to see some really good deals. At least this has been my experience no matter where I'm traveling to.

Not sure where you are renting from, but I found that Dollar will come down quite a bit the closer you get to your trip. I had changed a ressie 6-7 times because it kept coming down in $10 increments each week. Keep checking and good luck.
