In June I am renting a mini van for the week. With a 20 month old with me, and my 65 year old aunt, I figured it would come in handy a lot. Plus the HUGE stroller I have for the baby (bringing it due to it's awesome sun shade that adjusts where I want it to....rare in strollers actually.....I have PALE kids). There are 12 of us and we are doing a Costco stop and grocery stop as well for snacks and breakfast items. Two of us will get the rental and do the shopping while the other 10 do Magical Express.

Anyway, I went to mousesavers and got a code and found the best price I could from Alamo or National since I can return at the Car Care Center, which with all fees, etc. came to $263, which was worth the splurge to me. I figured I might get it a little cheaper as we got closer, so have been watching, checking.

Well, I started thinking tonight about how horrible the car rental lines were the last time we were there, so I went back to mousesavers to look about that club you could join to speed that process up. It is Nationals Emerald Club. Well her site shows you how to get this membership FREE (normally $50) and then how to stack codes.

So, I did all that and guess what this new mini van is going to cost me, for 7 days................total with ALL Fees.........$190! I just saved $73! I rent cars a LOT and have never seen a mini van, weekly rental, TOTAL for that low. Maybe some of you have, but just had to share this, in case any of you want to do the same.

Oh and in case you don't know, with this Emerald Club, you go STRAIGHT to the cars, pick one out and drive it straight to the pay window! There they take your EC Card and Drivers License and Credit Card.

Thanks for letting me share!

WOW! Don't you love when things like that happen?!

I have been an EC member for a few years now - sooo convenient just walking out right from baggage claim and picking your car.

Have a great trip!

Thanks! So, it really is that easy huh? Just walk out there and get what I want, drive it out (well stopping to check out of course)? I am so excited about that.

Do by chance have the codes? I would love to be able to partake in your deal!

Thanks, I forgot that I could get an EC free membership by working at a big ten college and I forgot about the mousesavers info on car rentals. I guess it's been too long since I went to WDW!

Anyway, I'll be able to stack discounts with the EC, AARP, and Entertainment book. Thanks a bunch for the reminders!

I do Budget rent a car, their membership fees are free... I dont know if they are at Orlando, I use them when I fly at other locals - the one thing for me at Budget they gave free upgrades (thru online, thru Entertainment coupon, thru the mail, they send them to me) BUT when they charge my cc, it is charged as a "hold" at a higher rate, after the return of the car, the only amount charged on my car is the agreed upon price... but the "hold" on the cc came as a surprise to me...

(Budget has the same deal as the Emerald club, just look for your name, see the area and go to that area, and pick the one you want from there! I always bring a Mickey Antenna Topper, and a beanie baby - it helps me find my rental cars in a parking lot!)

These are what I used...

Contract ID 6600330

Product Rate Code WWEB

And Coupon ID Number 10009123

I thought if you had any kind of coupon (like the coupon from Mousesavers) that you had to go to the counter. Last time I had a coupon that was the rule. If you didn't have a coupon and joined the club that you just go to the isle. I haven't done this in two years though, is it different now. Can someone verify? I'm going in June, with a coupon from mousesavers but would rather not wait on line if possible.
Thanks

The coupon I used was from the Entertainment book, which I will take with me. The other discounts were things that I won't have to show anything for.

Isn't that great when that happens. I love mousesavers.com! We got a minivan rental for 7 days this past Jan from Dollar for $193 . It was through orlando magic card which I signed up for online. Didn't need to show the card at the time of rental. BTW Dollar has fastpass which is free, lets you go to the front of the line with your info already in system, just sign papers, show ID and you're off.

Oh yeah, not to mention the fact that I would think the reservation would have told me I had to go to the counter, as I signed up under the Emerald Club link. I will call and verify this though, so I don't end up wasting time.

The reason I went with National...or Alamo was because I am returning it before we leave to come home, so need to return to the Car Care Center in Disney, SO convenient!

We just did Emerald Aisle with an Entertainment coupon of $20 off and all I did was pick out car and drive to booth.

I used a coupon from the Entertainment Book when renting in March. I went right to the Emerald Aisle, got the car and gave my coupon with my Emerald Card, etc. at the exit gate.

And don't forget the actual paper coupon, because I did that once and got charge the amount I suppose to save - ouch!

Have a great trip! ::MickeyMo

If you're using an upgrade coupon, you will have to go to National's counter, even if you're an Emerald Aisle member. If the coupon is for a free day or a set dollar amount off of your total rental cost, you can go directly to the EA and checkout at the gate. The National website will flag you when trying to use an upgrade coupon on the EA and it directs you to use the counter for checking out.

Does anyone know if you can use Emerald Isle if you are using a Debit Card with Proof of Round Trip Travel??

Just curious as I was confused as to whether I could do that or not!

try doing your reservation without the WWEB product id, see if it gives a better rate.....

they do sometimes add a product rate code to a reservation after you have made it, if one ever goes to the modify option , even though you have not enetered a product id when one initially does a booking, one will appear along with contract id and coupon id

Do you all lug your luggage out or does one go get the vehicle and then drive back around to pick-up area outside of baggage claim for the others?
When you get to the Emerald Aisle is there something marked that shows which vehicles I can pick for Intermediate?
Leaving in two days - yeah yeah!!!

MemoryMakers2669....when following the Mousesavers info, to get the free membership...it asks for a credit card...do they bill you? or is this just for check in purposes?

Thanks.
