What company does Ms rent from for Orlando? Also is it onsite at the airport or a shuttle takes you off the airport. I would really prefer an onsite rental company where you can walk up and get your car. Is this an option when renting from MS?

MS will make arrangements with whatever company you prefer. They will deal with the company you suggest or they will look for the best price. They used to be able to offer excellent prices with National but I don't think that's the "official" company of WDW any more. Maybe Alamo is? (same corporate parent anyway). But, MS is not restricted to these companies.

As for walking to your rental car, that might not be the case even for an "onsite" agency. It's very common to have to at least take a shuttle to a distant part of the airport parking area. You can ask MS what they know about this, and you can ask representatives of your favorite companies.

ms uses all of the car rentals, i just had ms look for a ressies for me and ms looked into several car rentals but using the corp. discount they found alamo was the cheapest price, even with my own search on the interenet with codes, found ms was cheaper, so i booked thru them, just received a conf. letter for alamo, but when i check for my christmas ressies ms was higher by a $150, so i booked my ressies over the interenet and was told by ms to keep calling back , they may get a better deal closer to christmas.
:teeth:

For most of the "onsite" rental dealers, the cars are just across from the rental desks, and it is a short walk. Of course, depending on how tired you are and what kind of car you want, the walk may seem longer.

Another thought...We rented from National for part of our trip and when we checked into the Boardwalk, returned it to the Dolphin office of National, and saved some money there, plus the inconvenience of returning it to the Orlando airport. We noticed when we arrived a week before, there was a line to return rentals that stretched out to the area where the road splits for all the different functions(Arrivals-Departures-Dropoff, etc). don't know why it was so backed up, but it scared us enough to ditch the car early.

I would also like to add that MS was able to quote me a pretty good rate on a rental during MH. I believe it was through Dollar. I had been checking all the available codes on the net and MS still had a better rate, so It may be a pretty decent perk to be able to use their travel services.

We've rented a mid size car (5 of us) on-line from National. They have a site right at the Airport. Walk out from baggage, up one floor in the parking garage, walk down the aisle pick your car and drive to the drive-up booth, it was so easy. Arrive Friday, stayed at all star for two nights, checked in at Broadwalk on Sunday then returned the car to the dolphin valet parking (i never had to go into a building). Cost was $46.00

This worked out great we were able to go to Sea World on Saturday, grocery shop off site and eat at our favorite offsite restuarant (Logans).

We've done this twice, once we just hired a limo for the return trip to the airport ($45.00) and once we picked up another car at the dolphin the day before we were to leave.

We've always have had a car before this so it was a little scary the first time not having a car readly accessable to us, but with staying onsite we found we didn't need one the whole time we were there.

Good Luck
