Rental Car through booking.com

We were thinking of renting a minivan for an upcoming road trip and of course the prices are astronomical. However, I found a minivan rental through Booking.com with Enterprise for $1400 for the month. It shows with taxes and fees (about $300 for this rental.) The thing is, when I go through Enterprise directly (or any other company) it shows $2600 for the same thing. Even at Booking.com if I try to modify my reservation to pick up a day earlier (which would be more convenient) or return at 2pm vs noon (we get in very late the night before and the rental place is an hour from our house so a few hours later would be more convenient) the price jumps by $1200!!! (More in line with the price I am seeing elsewhere.) Of course I grabbed the booking.com reservation at $1400 as it was free cancellation and I didn’t even need to put in a credit card to secure the reservation. But I am really suspicious as $1200 cheaper than everywhere else seems too good to be true. What could I be missing? (It does say unlimited mileage and we did not select insurance with any option.) Did I really just hit the jackpot? I have never used booking.com before. I am so worried about showing up at the rental counter 6-hrs before we are supposed to leave and find out that the price was too good to be true.

If you already booked it you can go into terms and find the small print... when I looked at my van price that my insurance paid Enterprise it was about $35 a day - stupid cheap compared to what the public pays.

Also try autoslash if you want to check rates

I just managed to repeat it through Expedia. So I cannot be more than one day over a month and must pick up and drop off at the same exact time. Is Expedia or booking.com better? Insurance is cheaper on Expedia, but I plan to not take the rental insurance and just use our own car insurance if need be unless someone can convince me we need it through the rental company. (I also have AAA for roadside if that factors into it.)

I never take the insurance, call your insurance provider and ask them. I have Geico and they told me no worries my full coverage policy covers me.

Never used them, but found a few websites where most of the people say their service is terrible and will never use them again. Most of the complaints were about hotel rooms, but a few were also about rental cars.

I have used booking.com 3-4 times for hotels and had no problems at all with them. I don't know about rental cars. I don't think that most people who are happy write in their reviews, though. Some may but I don't.
