I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place to post this. We are flying in to Phoenix, AZ to visit an uncle and then driving to DL. Can anyone give me tips or helpful information for rental cars or companies to use? Thanks in advance.

Are you flying out of So Cal then? One way rental charges are HUGE. Plus a lot of the discount companies don't even offer them ( I don't think priceline does).

Try costco's travel website if you're a member. I've gotten the best 1-way discounts there ( it's just a tab on the top of their regular costco.com page). Alamo has always wound up cheapest.

That's a pretty dull drive - flat desert. Depending on the one-way charge and the number of travellers it may be cheaper to fly.
If you do drive you may want to detour to the Grand Canyon.

I just found a web site from a co-worker...carrentals.com. I don't know how it works, it said "unlimited mileage" and from around $20 per day for a full size but I don't know how they are to deal with personally. Good luck!:confused3

I agree this site does have good prices or check AAA if you are a member.:confused3

Thank you for the helpful tips. I'm having a fit over the prices I'm coming up with. I thought driving over would be cheaper, but I might have been wrong! I'll check that carrentals.com and costco.

Also, check AAA or AARP if you are a member.

I've actually gotten some of the cheapest rental car rates at AARP over the years.

Another good source is kayak.com, which does a meta search of many travel sites.

Pretty much any car rental is going to offer unlimited mileage, so you should be good there.
