Family is landing in Fort Lauderdale, driving to keys and then driving back up to meet us at Disney. Where can they get a ezpass for tolls so they don’t have to pay through the rental car company?

The EZPass equivalent from the Central Florida Expressway, called Unipass, is available on their website Cfxway.com or from Amazon (search for Florida Unipass). The Florida Turnpike Sunpass Pro is available through the web site www.sunpass.com. The Sunpass Pro is also EZPass compatible. this site explains how the major rental companies handle electronic tolls.

some charge a fee only on days tolls are encountered

some charge a daily fee 'no matter what'

some require an 'opt in' decision up front, some will kick in automatically IF / WHEN a toll is incurred

the way the toll system works (in FL), if you have your own PHYSICAL transponder it will be read B4 the plate for the rental is read . .

Every rental company charges more for it, how much more depends on the company. One of them charges $10 per day of rental and then full cash rate on top of that. Some charge only on days used, some only charge the actual toll paid.
