Rental car/Parking question

So I’m planning a solo trip and I’m hoping to make it to a MNSSHP at WDW one night while I’m at Universal and I’m planning to rent a car the morning of the party and do a couple things in Orlando that morning before the party and then return the car right after. I’m hoping to just leave the keys in the drop box for return as soon as I return from the party. Has anyone done something similar to this and have you also been charged parking? I will not actually be “parking” the car just a pick up and return. TIA

I have not returned a car after hours so I am not familiar with where you need to leave the rental on return. However, the rental company is not really associated with the resort desk. As long as you do not need to get into the guest parking lot you shouldn't be charged parking. If you do need to get the car into the parking lot to return it, I would definitely argue any parking charges that might appear. Maybe ask at the resort desk when you check in?
