We are staying at the Swan and planning on using a rental car for the 3 days we go off site (Discovery Cove and Universal). I hoped to use National because they have a desk at the Dolphin but the best rate I am getting is $120. I did become a Emerald Isle card holder and got the one day free coupon, so with that day taken off it's $80. This is for a compact car!! What am I doing wrong. I tried all the tricks from mousesavers.

Help me out all you experts. Thanks so much.

It's actually cheaper to get the weekend or weekly rates than just 2 or 3 weekday's. We rent cars about 1/2 dozen times a year. There have been many times we only need a car for 4 days but we could get a weekly rate cheaper. If you are going to be there for a week, check those rates. If you can arrange to have the side trips on the weekend. Check out the weekend rates. They are usually Thursday p.m. or Friday to Monday.

We are going to be ther 10 days, but only need the car for 3. They are weekend days though ( Fri - Sun). I used the weekend code and still was at $120 minus the free day. Do you think I can do better? What have you paid? I sure appreciate your help.

Maybe it's worth it to pay for the rental car for entire stay. Remembering to add in the cost of you to get to the airport at the end of your stay (if you don't have the rental car). I rented a compact for my daughter for 1 week and the rate is $95 after discounts, I believe $130 after all taxes and fees are added. I used the vacation contract code and vacation $15 coupon. She is not EA. She could pay another $14 move up to intermediate.

I priced a car for the same amount of time(4 days with a free day coupon) from the Dolphin--it came up to $100.14, for an intermediate size car. For 9 days, it was $154, so I went with that because we still have to get back to the airport and a one day rental would have been about $50 with all the codes/discounts.

HTH!

Can you please tell me about the $15 coupon for National and what codes are you talking about? I am an EI customer and have never gotten a free day or been told about discount codes.
Any help will be appreciated.
