Rental Car Info Please DFW Airport

We are considering taking a rental car to DFW airport when we leave for disney, and I have a few questions.

1. If they advertise 30/day rates and you are just driving about 2-3 hrs to the airport and have rental car coverage on your insurance, approximitly how much would you pay total price?

2. What do we need to do at the airport to return our car?

3. How much time do we need to allow for returning the car and getting to our gate?


We are scheduled to depart DFW at 8:47 on the 17th of December.

I dont know the answer to your first question. To return your car follow the car rental return signs, I think they are posted by agency like National, Avis etc. You will go into the car rental bldg. There are monitors there that have your flight and terminal number on it and gate. You must board the correct bus with your luggage to make sure you go to the right terminal. The busses make about 3 stops at each terminal, say for example stop 1 is gates 1-17. American has the most stops I think. If you are not using curbside checkin, no matter what airline you have, get there early because the inside check in lines are long, this is not security, I am just talking counters. American is the worst. They weigh your luggage exactly. We had to transfer stuff into other suitcases once and it was still a few lbs. over and they finally said o.k. We like to be there early before the flight and add all that time in. We were in arlington on vacation this aug, which is only about 10 mins. from the airport. The drop off is pretty easy, we had national, its the check in at the terminal that is painfully slow. I am one who likes to have lots of time to spare, so I might say 3 hours total at least. Go have an ice cream, etc. and wait for your flight. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
