Hi! I found some great rates for Dollar thanks to Mousesavers! (Compact for 1 week-$125!). I also found a compact for $75/week from Payless Car Rental on Yahoo Travel. I believe that Dollar is onsite at the airport and Payless you must take a shuttle. I am arriving late at night, and would be willing to pay the extra $50 if it is THAT much more convenient. Anyone rented from either place?

I have rented from Dollar and had no problems. I try to avoid the shuttles. (I will do Hertz, but that is because I am gold and it takes me straight to my car!)

We have always used Dollar & have been very happy with them . I don't know Payless but depending upon the size of your group and when you are arriving, being inside the terminal is a plus!!

We haven't used an off airport rental place since the day the back doors on the shuttle were not latched, and everyones luggage spilled out the back door. We all got it back and all was well, but it sure put a sour spot in our tummy's.
National was my favorite..this week dollar nudged ahead..great service, great car, AND a wonderful price using the entertain code.

On my first trip I booked thru a travel agent who arranged a car for us at Alamo. Although we had no problems with the company or the car, we did have to take a shuttle to get the car. It wasted more than 1½ hours of our time. Ever since finding the DIS boards, I have booked all components of every trip myself. I've used Dollar several times at MCO because they consistently have the lowest rates of all the rental car companies onsite at the airport. I'd rather pay the extra $ and save the time, especially when returning.

I couldn't suggest Payless in the least as I've had 2 dealings with them that render me unable to say anything favorable. They might not even be open 24 hours. I would go with the Dollar rate or check Alamo. Alamo's operation has rapidly grown in Orlando, and we've found the best rate there the last 4 years. Now you can cut through all the questions about damage waivers, etc. online and avoid the line of people. You just go to a small side office, use an ATM like station and pick up your car. We were in and out in 10 min flat with NO SALES PITCH. Plus the rate beat Dollar, Hertz, Avis, and National. If you don't mind a shuttle, check out their website and use YQ for internet rate.

We have rented from both companies, and we had no problems with either of them. Dollar was more convenient since it was at the airport. Payless isn't open 24 hours. I think it closes at 12:00 or 1:00.
