Rental Car Discounts

I am looking for a cheap rental car for a trip to California next week. I've already blown my chances at priceline. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I need at least a standard or mid size.

We were in San Diego in Dec. and I booked thru National EA, just used the codes found here along with an Entertianment coupon and I ended up with a bright red Blazer SUV for 5 days for a base of $80+. I don't remember the exact amount but it did take several tries on the net with many code combinations. I have to say when I finally got that quote I immediatley booked and printed the confirmation! Even the attendant was amazed with my price. Have a great trip.
