Rental Car Discounts. . .

My husband and I have decided to drive from New England to Orlando - that may sound crazy but we have wanted to try it for some time. We both hate to fly and last May we took the train; this time around it is going to be budget all the way We have APs and got ressies at POR so we do not want to splurge on transportation. Since we may be taking the train back, does anyone know of any discounts available for any rental car company for a one-way trip; I know some of them give great rates just so they can transport their vehicles from one area to another but we are not having any luck (even with AP discount). Does anyone know of any great deals for any rental car companies???

Both Hotwire and Priceline have "one-way rental" links. You don't bid for them, and you aren't committed if you run a price. All that happens is you choose the one-way link, then choose the company and get a price for your trip. A discount code fills in automatically. We got a really good one-way rate with Budget using Hotwire...I couldn't touch it with any other code.

Thanks so much for the info - that is great to know. I have been checking out Hotwire yesterday and today - I have been able to click "one way" for auto rental but when I click on hertz or the two other companies listed, it says "Page cannot de displayed" - I will keep trying and hope I find a great rate!!!
