rental car and parking

Up until now, we have not ventured off-site on our trips WDW, but for this trip we are renting a car and will be going to Universal for two days. We are doing a split stay between POFQ and AKL, but for the time that we have the rental car, we will be staying at POFQ.

My plan is to pick up the rental car from the Car Care Center early on the day that we will be going to Universal, and then keep the car two nights.

With that in mind, how do I arrange for parking at POFQ? Will I have to pay for parking for those two nights? Lastly (at least I think), will I be able to use the parking permit from POFQ to park at the parks? I was thinking that if we got back from Universal early one day, that day there are PM EMH at Magic Kingdom, and maybe we could just swing over to MK for a quick trip with the rental car while I have it.

When you check in at POFQ let them know you need a parking pass. The pass will be dated for the length of your stay. When you pick up your rental, put the pass on your dashboard. This pass will get you free parking in the parks and the guards at your resort will wave you in or you can use your KTTW card at the automated gate at the resort.
