Rental Business

I was trying to find 18 points to be transferred into my account to finish a reservation. I didn't have much luck, so I gave up and got the 18 points from DVC for 15.00 each. It got me to wondering what ever happened to those people with multiple contracts and thousands of points who seemed to be renting them as a business. Do you think they got stuck with them after the rules changed?

Since we can only transfer points once per Use Year (either into or out of our account) it can be difficult to find someone willing to use that one transfer for a small number of points.

I doubt anyone got stuck. I know a couple of them sold of some contracts due to the uncertainty but for most, I don't think it's made much difference. There really isn't a lot DVC can do for all but the most blatant of issues. I think your just not seeing it due to the Rent/Change board rules changes over the past few years which just drove them to other venues like ebay, TUG, redweeks, craigslist, etc. Both issues made them even more likely to reserve something first to offer rather than say "I have points for rent".
