I love RENT. It's one of my favorite musicals and I'd really love to see it on Broadway (specifically with Adam and Anthony, but I'd love to see Alan Cumming or Neil Patrick Harris play Mark! I think they'd both be amazing!).

My favorite character is Mark and my favorite song is, well, Rent. I'm actually going to be changing my voicemail message tomorrow when I have cell service to "You're living in America, so leave your conscience at the tone".

Neil was in Rent for awhile... I can't remember if he was Mark or Roger. But Alan Cumming would be weird for me, since he IS the Emcee from Cabaret, for me, lmao.

I know, but just...he's an extremely versatile actor and I think that with a little hair bleach he'd be perfect for Mark. I'd have to get past the whole Cabaret thing (Alan OWNS the role of Emcee, from my POV, at least), too, but I think I could do it and enjoy the show (or, you know, think dirty thoughts about him the entire time....).

And I didn't know that NPH had done Rent. I love him. If I ever meet him, I'm going to be the crazy one that just runs right up and hugs him. That's my new life goal.

Its a good movie but an even better stage show. Ive seen it on Broadway twice now.

A local theatre in the area was lucky enough to be one of four theatres in the entire USA to premeire the school edition...not much changed. They just took out Contact and changed some lyrics. Honestly I am exited that they are making a school edition of this show, hopefully it is as succesfull as the Le Miz school edition was.

Alan could totally pull off mark. But I know he really IS the emcee...its funny how we can completely relate someone with the role they play.

Adam was amazing as the Emcee! I even have a few *cough* videos and recordings from when he was the emcee... *cough*

As for Adam and Anthony recordings, well... I have like 5 full audios from when they were back in Rent, and a bunch of misc videos. I've been trying to get a full video, but no luck, lmao.

How can I not want to hear them though, because they sound SO much better than they did in '96. A lot of people disagree and say they were better in 96 because they were more "raw" which added to the show. But, I thought it was amazing when Adam ended Another Day higher than usual during his run this summer. I just wish he would have made Glory higher like he did for Rent10 - that gave me chills.

I read that book. It was good but kinda of ehm, descriptive. Other then that I really liked it.

I saw the broadway show and the movie and loved both of them. they were my obsesstions along with wicked for a year. now ive moved on.

btw, did anybody catch anthony and adam when they came back in august? i was planning on seeing them but my mom said i didnt need to see rent again..

Yeah, his book is really good. I have the paperback of it, so the cover is a little beat up, so when I gave it to him to sign he was like, "I guess you enjoyed it, huh?". He's a really good writer, which is no surprise seeing who his brother is.

I bought the audiobook of it too, because Anthony is the one reading. I think it adds a lot to the story, since he's the one reading it.

But still!! AHHHHHHH!! I have seen a show actually ON BROADWAY in NYC once...and it was Chicago. Don't get me wrong, it was great, but it doesn't have Adam and Anthony in it!

Although I would have LOVED to have seen the OBC of WICKED. Either that cast or Shoshana/Megan (second favorite Elphie/Glinda!!)
