Rent/ Transfer question for the pros.

If we rent/ transfer points to use along with our points do they need to be the same use year to use together for 1 reservation?

If you rent points the owner would make your reservation so no it would not be able to be one reservation-I would think with a transfer you would be able to book all as one reservation with MS since that is how one time use points are handled but I am not positive. In order to book online I know they have to match a resort and the use year you actually own

Transferred points retain their home resort and UY. Banked points can not be transferred but transferred points can be banked.

MS can have trouble making reservations with transferred points.

Per the DVC rules you can't transfer points for money, only DVC can.

Once you transfer points into your account, they act like a different resort and use year, but with the same owner. If they happen to have the same use year as your other points, then you can see them in your online account, and book with them online. Otherwise, you can't see them, and you have to call MS to book with them. But yes, you can combine them with your points for one reservation.

I just did a transfer into my account last week. The points are a different resort, but same UY as my points. They do not show up in my account online, but I had no trouble calling MS to book a reservation and they saw the points immediately.
