Rent/Transfer Points?

I posted this in the wrong place initially OOPS!!!

I have a question -- what's the difference between Renting and Transferring points?

I have my developer's points for SSR that I don't think we can use so I am trying to work out options...

When you "rent points" you are really using your points to make a reservation for someone else. We refer to it as "renting points" but it's really renting a reservation. You own the reservation (even if your renter is also a DVC member) and have full control over it. You would have to set up DME and the dining plan for your renter since the renter cannot call MS about the reservation.

When you transfer points, MS takes points from your account and moves them into someone elses account. That other member then owns those points and would make their own reservation with them.

Developer points cannot be transferred to another member but you can use them to make a reservation for someone else.
