Rent or buy Pal Mickey?

I have twins who will be celebrating their 3rd bday at WDW next week.

I was planning on getting a Pal Mickey. But my delima is 1 or 2. So I was thinking of renting them and see how they like them. Will they allow me to apply the rental fee to a purchase? If so, is it only one day rental or can I try it out for 2 days and they would still apply that to the rental?

Also, if I did buy one, would they give me a new one or ones or the ones I've been renting?

Thanks

IMHO, Buy. I got my son his at last years MNSSHP (he was 7 at the time) and he loves his pal mickey! He still sleeps with it every night and it's great enterainment on the trips down/back. Heck I like Pal Mickey almost as much as he does.

I say rent him first to make sure you want him. We rented him and found out we didn't need him. We are happy that we didn't buy him or it would have been a waste for us in money that could have been spent elsewhere at the time

. If you want him as a souvi then I say buy, but if you're not sure then rent. Some people don't like to spend the extra money to rent him and then find out they want to buy him so the choice is really up to you. :)

I'm going to rent one first, but we won't be going back for a couple years, so it might not be worth it to buy him for us. My kids aren't big on stuffed toys though, we'll just have to see!

I was pretty sure I read that if you rent, they do apply your rental toward your purchase, and give you a brand-new one to buy. I'm not 100%, but you may want to do a search, maybe on the budget board?

I'm sure I recall reading they apply your rental to the purchase. I don't remember reading you get a new Mickey, but that would be nice, too.

I really, really wanted one... but at my age... and no young kids....

When there in May 04 I checked, and if you rent one and then decided you wanted your own the rental was applied to the cost of a new in the box Mickey.

Alas, I could not talk my 12 yo DS into the fact I really NEEDED one. Lets not even mention the turblance my 20 yoDD eyes made in all the pools at WDW when she found out I wanted, er, needed one....

Still morning my Pal Mickey-less state....
