Renovated Super 8 Maingate

Has anyone stayed at the Super 8 Maingate (5875 W. Irlo Bronson) since they renovated? According to the webiste, the rooms are all new in 2007. Judging by the suddenly vastly different Trip Advisor reviews, this happened sometime between March and October. The new rooms look really nice, and the TA reviews since October have been very positive, but I'd feel better if someone here could tell me something.

We were, otherwise, looking at Travelodge Suites Eastgate Orange - we're on a strict budget and just looking for someplace to sleep - but with the renovation, it looks like the Super 8 may be nicer for the same price.

Any advice?
