After this weeks DIS shows I'm pulling out my passport (which has expired with my maiden name still on it) and going to renew it. I want to go on an ABD trip and might even have to go solo if DH doesn't want to come.

Now the thoughts of going at it alone - single - ::gasp:: frighten me beyond belief. But maybe I could do it with the DIS.

I did the February DIS ABD trip by myself. I had never met anyone on the trip, not even my roommate. It was a wonderful trip and I made some great friends. We stay in touch weekly and are even planning on attending PCC 4.0 together. In fact my ABD roomie and I will be rooming together on the cruise.

My husband just isn't into these kinds of trips and he has no interests in going on a cruise. I think you should go for it! You would probably have a great time.

I probably just have to pull off the bandaid and do it. Would like to share a room due to cost of single.

The new ABD trips are sooooo tempting!:surfweb:

I just got back from doing a DIS ABD trip on my own. It was a blast and you definitely make new friends right away. Go for it! :thumbsup2

I've taken all my ABD's solo! It's fabulous. You're never alone unless you want to be! I say go for it!

You might be "solo" but you wouldn't be alone.

Not on a DIS trip - a really nice bunch of folks.

I was *terrified* of solo travel for a long time, however after many friends and colleagues recommended it, I gave it a try. Last summer I did two solo weeks in London and Ireland and have done WDW solo a few times too. It seemed scary for the first five minutes, but then you settle into a routine. I find you make a lot of friends along the way when you're going solo and there is something nice about setting your own pace.

I think Jeff definitely said it best - a solo Disboards ABD trip definitely wouldn't be alone! I'm definitely planning to try and fit an ABD trip into my schedule next year and will likely be going solo as well. I need to catch up to the podcasts and hear the buzz about the new trips!

Call me a wuss, but I couldn't imaging doing something like this without Mrs. Tex. We're sort of a set, and I just wouldn't have any fun at all.

Good luck, and enjoy your trip!
