Hey guys and girls,
Congrats on your weddings!

DH and I are looking forward to a renewal service in 2010. Is there any posts out there of other people's experiences in the Escape package, etc..?
I looked for them but all I can see is wedding stuff.

And, we are DVC members... and was wondering if we can use our points for the resort stay they require?

We ordered our information booklet and dvd from the website and plan to call when I have more questions... but was hoping one of you lovely people could give me some tips first.

Thanks a million!
Jen

DH and I are having our Vow Renewal at WDW Nov. 9, 2009. We are having a Wishes wedding but looked into having an Escape wedding. We are also DVC members and I do know you can use your points for the resort stay they require. You just have to have it book and give them the reservation # when you book your VR.

What specific questions do you have, maybe I can help?

Here is a link to my planning journal, in the first post is a link to the first planning journal and you can read when we were going to do an Escape wedding and maybe get some details from there.

Oh and the Escape and Wishes packages for weddings are the same for vow renewals. There isn't a difference in Disney's eyes. We just need to show them a copy of our marriage license.

Excellent! Thanks for the reply. Congrats on your vow renewal!
We were really hoping we could use our points for the stay... but thought Disney may not include the dvc resorts.
I will check out your journal... as I am sure it will help us a lot.
When we signed up for the online wishes book (I think that's what it's called) where you can see all the add ons...? Once you put the Escape package on there it never gives the options for decorations or table cloths, etc... is that still an option? Also there was not an option for additional drinks like tea/water/soda/coffee.

Thanks again,
Jenny

Thanks, congrats on your VR too!!:goodvibes

Escape packages are the ceremony only with a small "reception". The "reception" is a short amount of time to have a few dances, cake and champagne toast. That's it and 20 people total including you and your DH. You can add extra drinks but I think it is limited to cold drinks, no coffee, tea. Here are a few links that explain it better:

You can plan a nice dinner or lunch at a restaurant on WDW property for after the ceremony. That has nothing to do with DFTW and you would pay for that separately. Remember Escape brides can only wear your wedding dress at resort restaurants, not in the park.
